This is the Delma Ann, a crab boat in Florence, OR. Al Pazar has been a crab fisherman on the Oregon Coast since disco was popular in 1975. He has operated the Delma Ann since big hair and acid wash jeans were popular in 1983. The Delma Ann provides plenty of crab for the Krab Kettle, a restaurant and seafood shop he and his wife run in Florence. How cool is that? I provide lettuce for my wife’s salad from the garden box I captain out back…
Just down from the Capitol building in Boise is this unique corner on Capitol & Idaho. This corner used to be a Starbucks, then became a Tully’s Coffee, then became Caffe’ Capri Coffee and now is a Sushi joint. I have a history of drawing cool local sites, only to see them go out of business or become something else more “hip”. This is one of those.
This is how you do creative. I came across the creative woman Jill Weber a couple months ago and I was so inspired by Jill’s creativity and passion for gardening and obviously life. It made me want to do several things: 1. Watch it again. 2. Go draw something. 3. Thumb thru our seed catalog and plan our garden. 4. Thank God again for so many things that really make life rich.
We make life so very complicated yet producing shallow results. I think my life’s motto has become: “Nothing has changed, God is still longing for someone to just walk with Him in a garden.” Enjoy. I especially liked the little wheel of seed growth!
I love it when the wise and educated will inform us that eating fresh veggies will reduce the risk of cancer…duh!! That’s because everything else we eat that is filled with chemicals and man-made synthetics increases the risk of cancer! (Especially in the U.S.) We finally have some carrots coming up and we got these fun, colorful ones. Can’t wait to harvest them. Cool weather root vegetables are packed with the vitamins and nutrients that our bodies are needing and craving after a long winter without them. Just in case you were wondering.
