Date Night

Lastnight, my own lovely lady and I, after sharing a pina colada and gettin’ caught in the rain, went to see the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast.  It was really cool, and it is truly amazing how much time and effort these talented artists put in!  Memorizing lines, songs, dances, for 2 1/2 hours is remarkable.  We benefit from their extremely hard work!  Anyway, it was really fun and way better than the VHS animated version I own.  And, I apologize if that one song is now stuck in your head…

Date Night

Red Robin

This event is one we will not soon forget. It’s one of those simple but impacting  moments you cherish.  Last year, my wife and I were desperately needing to go out on a date but didn’t have the extra cash at the time, during our time in Washington.  A good friend who knew nothing of our situation gave us a gift card to Red Robin, saying they were” just thinking about us.” It was like gold to us. We went, we ate, came close to getting to the bottom of the bottomless Garlic-Parmesan fries, and even got to watch our beloved Boise State Broncos play on TV! (Romantic? No, but my wife is into Boise State football…) We were 400 miles and a time zone away but that date was priceless!  I drew this uber-super-fast sketch during halftime. Not a favorite sketch of mine, but a favorite memory because it meant so much to us!
