You never want to set the bar too high…
Thank you, Artwork by Christina Bourgeois, who said I could sketch this when I saw the actual photo on her blog and it made me laugh. Check out her blog.
Fall is my favorite season. Leaves changing to brilliant colors, farmers out gathering the harvest from a spring and summer’s hard work, cooler days and chilly evenings, the glow of lights around the city from football games on Friday nights . I’ve also noticed the smells I love that remind me of fall, like burning leaves, chili simmering on the stove, you get the idea. You also know it’s fall when all the coffee shops start serving Pumpkin Spice drinks. I did this chalk board for a local coffee shop a couple weeks ago.
I’m really enjoying making signs and decided to put the chalk board above a door entry at our house to good use. It added a nice touch to our dinner party. I’m looking forward to doing another sign for a coffee shop this week…and as long as I keep getting paid with coffee everybody wins!
I am stretching myself to try something new. Chalkboard Art. This is something that always “wows” me when I see others’ Chalk Art and I’d like to take my doodling and mix it up there every now and then. This is my first sign, at a local coffee shop. The learning curve was huge on this one as I experimented with chalk, pastel, and chalkboard paint. I have no idea what I’m doing but had fun! The best part is, I’m trading art for coffee. We’ll see how it goes and where it might lead. More to come.
