Just down from the Capitol building in Boise is this unique corner on Capitol & Idaho. This corner used to be a Starbucks, then became a Tully’s Coffee, then became Caffe’ Capri Coffee and now is a Sushi joint. I have a history of drawing cool local sites, only to see them go out of business or become something else more “hip”. This is one of those.
I sketched this very cool coffee shop in downtown Boise called Caffe’ Capri awhile back and someone saw it and asked me to do one just for them. So this is that one, and I added more detail and landscape and on a larger piece of paper than I normally use. I really enjoy drawing pics for people that are meaningful to them like houses and special places. It make this hobby a pleasure.
This is Caffe’ Capri in downtown Boise. It’s just a block down from the State Capital and in a very unique, old building. We love finding shops, restaurants and such in restored old places that have a lot of character. The cookie-cutter-franchise- stores are as blah as it gets. You could walk into these places and be anywhere in the world and it’s exactly like the last one you were in back home. Very unimaginative. But I also understand it’s about money. Thank you to all the shops that dare to make interesting locations work for them. We’ll keep coming!
