Coffee People Watching

Coffee People

This lady sat down across the room from me and was great to sketch– profile, a cool bun-thingy going on with her hair, didn’t move but when she typed it sounded like a “Lord of the Dance” production.

  1. Reblogged this on J.A.M. Joanna's Artistic Muse and commented:
I’ve been following Brad Young ‘ s art for over a year. I love how he especially depicts people, and his surroundings, in his art. This blog post “Coffee People Watching” really struck a chord with me and I had to share.

  2. Ok, this is my FAVORITE! I love seeing people in illustrations. I love live sketches. I love how you’ve sketched this lady–her hunched posture and like you said cool bun-thingy. Also, your comment about her typing speed triggered a memory. I’m old school. I went to grade 9 typing class and learned on a manual typewriter. I’ve been typing on a keyboard for 36 years. It used to freak my teenage daughter out when she’d ask me a question, I’d look at her and answer her while still typing on my laptop. She thought I looked possessed. Bahaha. πŸ˜ƒ The beauty of art–memories it can trigger. Thank you. πŸ‘Œ

    • Glad you enjoy the sketch, and you’re a mom so you obviously have mastered multi-tasking! Ha! Drawing people live is my weakness so I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try to practice. It’s fun. But they have to be intesting for me to sketch them. As always, thanks for the comment!!

      • I hope you don’t mind but I re-blogged this post. I saw you had the button. The beauty of art–this post brought back a fun memory and that I think is the best art.
